Every month Nashville lives up to the name Music City Usa by presenting the finest in country, Christian, rock and other types of music events across the city. However, Nashville isn’t just Music City as plays, conventions, festivals and other events take place every week across Middle Tennessee.

Now through September 12th – The Golden Age of Couture: Paris and London 1947-1957. Couture clothing exhibition from the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, showcases designers such as Dior, Balenciaga, and Chanel at the Frist Center in Nashville. Now through October 31, 2010 Chihuly at Cheekwood - Garden installations, indoor chandeliers, and a museum gallery exhibition showcase the work of glass artist Dale Chihuly at Cheekwood in Nashville.

Now through January 2, 2011 Chihuly at the Frist - Exotic light displays from the Chihuly series designed specifically for the Frist Center’s upper-level galleries.

Now through January 2011 – Loving You: Collecting Elvis Presley – The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum exhibit celebrates Elvis Presley’s seventy-fifth birth year in Nashville.

Now through June 12, 2011 Tammy Wynette – First Lady of Country Music - The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum new exhibit entitled Tammy Wynette: First Lady of Country Music featuring many of the singer’s prized possessions, stage costumes, vintage photos, correspondence, awards and more.

September 2 Brooks & Dunn Farewell Show – Brooks & Dunn present their last show at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.

September 2 Cinderella – Live at the Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville. Doors open at 6pm. Show starts at 7:30pm. Tickets $ 20/$ 55/$ 125.

September 2 – Free Doll Display hosted by Belle Meade Plantation Belles Doll Club in Bellevue.

September 3-5- 2nd Annual Head Jamz Music Festival - The 2nd annual Head Jamz Music Festival will take place over Labor Day Weekend in Adams, TN (north of Nashville). Artists include: Emmitt-Nershi Band w/ (Drew Emmitt – Leftover Salmon and Bill Nershi – The String Cheese Incident), Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk, New Mastersounds, Cornmeal, Future Rock, The Twin Cats, Midwest Hype, Zoogma, Max Allen Band, Old Union, Hyryder, Captain Midnight Band, Ladymoon, Last Straw, Flea Market Hustlers, Shadyside All-Stars, New Castle All-Stars, and more. Tickets: $ 65/$ 75/$ 85.

September 5 To Avenge Fort Mims: The First Creek War - Living history programs repeat multiple times between 1:30 – 4:30 p.m. at the Hermitage mansion. Free with regular admission purchase.

September 9 – Sawyer Brown at Wildhorse Saloon.

September 9 – 9th Annual Americana Music Show - The 9th Annual Americana Music Association’s Honors and Awards Show features a band led by Buddy Miller, and performances by Emmylou Harris, Avett Brothers, Rodney Crowell, Wanda Jackson, Rosanne Cash, Patty Griffin, Sam Bush, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Ryan Bingham, Corb Lund, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Joe Pug, Will Kimbrough and many more at the Ryman Auditorium.

September 9 – Sketch Safari - Sketch Safari at the Nashville Zoo is an opportunity for artists age 13 to sketch the Zoo’s African elephants from a viewing area not typically open to the public on Sept. 9 from 4 – 5:30 p.m. $ 15 for members, $ 25 for non-members.

September 10 Over The Edge – Special Olympics Tennessee - This rappelling fundraiser down the 27-story Nashville City Center, a height of more than 400 feet, supports Special Olympics Tennessee’s training and athletic competition for more than 16,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Participants must raise a minimum of $ 1,000 in pledges to enter. To register, visit www.specialolympicstn.org.

September 10-12 Mahler’s Eighth - Season Opening festivities for the Nashville Symphony 2010-2011 Concert Season presented by Nashville Symphony with Giancarlo Guerrero, conductor, Nashville Symphony Chorus with George Mabry, chorus director, and the Blair Children’s Chorus.

September 10-19 Tennessee State Fair – The Tennessee State Fair takes place at the Nashville fairgrounds from September 10th through September 19th and features rides, food, animals, displays and fun for the entire family.

September 11 George Strait – George Strait and Reba with Special Guest Lee Ann Womack at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

September 12 Black Crowes - The Black Crowes perform at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.

September 14 Nickelback - Nickelback brings their Dark Horse World Tour to Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on September 14.

September 16-18 Darryl Worley’s 9th Annual Tennessee River Run – 9th Annual Tennessee River Run takes place at various locations in West Tennessee including Pickwick, Adamsville, and Savannah. The festival features three days of fun activities including: Evening With Darryl & Friends (September 16); Golf Tournament (September 17); 5K Run/Walk (September 18); Motorcycle Poker Run (September 18); Rock Concert with Marshall Tucker Band (September 17); and an all-star Country Concert featuring Worley and former American Idol contestant, Danny Gokey (September 18).
