Every single year I get very excited when the United States Open Golf Championship gets closer and close. This is simply because this is the most unpredictable golf tournament of the year. It is very different than any other PGA tour event and is the most exciting of the 4 majors because of the format and the way you can get into it.
How to Qualify for the United States Open Golf Championship
There are numerous ways that a golfer can qualify for the United States Open Golf Championship. If a golfer finishes at the top of the money list, is a past winner, or finished in the top 15 in the previous year they could get an exemption into the tournament. Also, the past winners of the Master, PGA Championship, and British Open from the past 5 years get in as well.
What makes the United States Open Golf Championship even more interesting is that anybody with a low enough handicap can enter into local qualifying at over 100 sites. Then, if they finish high enough they can move onto sectional qualifying and have a chance to play their way into the tournament.

The US Open sells out every single year and will again this year so you either have to get your tickets very early on or you will end up paying more from a broker, on eBay, or from a classified website. If you do not get tickets you will be watching the tournament on television, which is not horrible, but it is not as good as being there in person. This is one of the most important tournaments of the year and there is a ton of history that you can witness at this tournament.
